You didn’t specify your son’s age, however, I would recommend the Summer Bridge series by Carson Dellosa. It helps kids keep up with their studies over the summer. Here is one for a 7th or 8th grader:http://www.k12schoolsupplies.net/Summer-…
It has writing activities as well as reading, math and other activities. It comes designed specifically for a grade level.
There’s a good writing course out there, called IEW, Institute for Excellence in Writing. My English teacher used it and some handouts she made on me and turned me from a non-writer to someone who writes just for fun.
You could get him a good writing book. With punctuation and writing methods. Cosco is really good. They have great books on helping kids like him with writing.
I agree with Alexander. As far as a specific product for your 10-year old, I would suggest the Student Writing Intensive Level A. This is a video course, so you just open the packet of handouts, hand him the page he needs for the day, slip in the video, and enjoy it with him.
